William Butcher was born in Hertfordshire, England in 1998. Growing up in the town of Hertford and spending many weeks every year in Cornwall. After studying music and art in later school years William continues to search for inspiration and ways to express himself in every way he can.
William’s passion for drawing began at a very young age, using skills of his hands to create endless worlds to get lost in. With a keen curiosity and openness to explore, the focus on his drawing began to convey a mystery and vastness reflecting his adventure
With attention to detail resembling a woodcut/ etching effect using only pen techniques; William’s work has been compared to artists such as Franklin Booth and Aubery Beardsley. The focus on animals, jungle and the sky has become the most expression for William to reflect this sense of freedom in which he searches for and feels within him everyday.
Aswell as being a abstract painter focusing in ‘Expressionism’ and a self taught picture framer, giving him further possibility to his creations. For painting portfolio see @williambutcher_painter on instagram.
